Korg M3: MIDI note numbers generated by Drum/Perc GEs
korg_m3.jpg

Scenario

You are trying to figure out which MIDI notes are generated by the Drum Pattern and Perc. Pattern GEs in your M3, for any of the following reasons:

  • You are trying to set up external drum machines to respond to the Drum Pattern and Perc. Pattern GEs used in the KARMA modules of your programs and combis.
  • You are trying to remap the Drum Kits in an EXB expansion board to respond to these GEs.
  • You are trying to figure out which note numbers can be changed using one of the RTC parameters in these GEs.

Note: This article applies only to Drum Pattern and Perc. Pattern GEs whose GE Type is Generated-Drum. This article does not apply to Drum Pattern GEs that use other GE Types, or to Melodic GEs that use the Generated-Drum GE Type.

Procedure

There is no procedure for this, per se. Instead, there is a downloadable PDF file created by Stephen KayStephen Kay called M3 GE Drum & Percussion Mappings that you can use to help you figure this stuff out.
