korg_m3.jpg

Scenario

You have the EXB-RADIAS board fitted in your M3 and you want to know how to load the necessary software and programs and combis to make it sing. Firstly, you need to make sure the EXB-Radias board is upgraded to V2 Radias software. The M3 will say EXB-RADIAS (v2) in the power-on screen if it is the latest version. If you are running an earlier version, then you need to perform an upgrade to the V2 EXB-Radias software as follows.

Prerequisites

Your M3 must be upgraded to the M3 XPanded V2 software release before you upgrade the EXB-RADIAS card's software.

Procedure

  1. Download the EXB-Radias V2 software by clicking this link
  2. Download the first set of Radias V2 Programs and Combis by clicking this link
  3. Download the second set of Radias V2 Programs and Combis by clicking this link
  4. Plug the USB memory stick that already contains the M3 XPanded files into your PC or MAC. # On your PC or MAC, rename the M3SYS folder on the USB stick to M3SYS-OSV2, to prevent the M3SYS folder being overwritten in the next step.
  5. On your PC or MAC, open the folder EXB-RADIAS_V20_633669327171890000.zip and select the folder called M3SYS and drag and drop it onto the drive icon for the USB stick. Verify that the folder M3SYS has been successfully copied.
  6. On your PC or MAC, open the folder RDSV2_XP_633659950971520000.zip and select the file called RDSV2_DAZ.PCG and drag and drop it onto the drive icon for the USB stick. Verify that the file RDSV2_DAZ.PCG has been successfully copied.
  7. On your PC or MAC, open the folder RADCOMV2.zip and select the file called RADCOMV2.PCG and drag and drop it onto the drive icon for the USB stick. Verify that the file RADCOMV2.PCG has been successfully copied.
  8. Plug your USB stick into the M3. Select the "Upgrade system software" option. When it says it has finished, turn power off, count to 5, then power on. The M3 should report “EXB_RADIAS (v2)” on the power-up screen.
  9. Press the MEDIA button, select the “Load” tab, and select the file RDSV2_DAZ.PCG on the USB stick, then touch the Load icon. A dialog box will appear - do not change any of the options on it, just select the OK icon.
  10. Press the MEDIA button, select the “Load” tab, and select the file RADCOMV2.PCG on the USB stick, then touch the Load icon. A dialog box will appear - do not change any of the options on it, just select the OK icon.
  11. The EXB-Radias programs and combis will load into the respective U-F banks by default. There are two different sets depending on whether you are in "Program" mode or "Combi" mode.
  12. Plug the USB memory stick back into your PC or MAC.
  13. On your PC or MAC, rename the M3SYS folder on the USB stick to M3SYS-RADIAS and rename M3SYS-OSV2, back to M3SYS. This will allow you to reload the M3 XPanded OS in future and will prevent any confusion over the content of the M3SYS folder on your USB stick.
